Clean Hulls. Clean Oceans.
One hull at a time.
Conventional antifoulings poison the oceans on an industrial scale – and that’s what we aim to end. F2 sets the new standard in antifouling: biocide-free, without trade-offs – so boat owners and shipyards can make an environmentally friendly choice without sacrificing performance.
F2 Eco Product Philosophy
We develop technology in harmony with nature – consistently eco-friendly and future-proof, without greenwashing. Out of respect for our oceans.
Biocides don’t just kill fouling – they also harm non-target organisms, disrupt food webs, and accumulate in sediments. This damages coastal ecosystems and marinas – which is why we consistently avoid them.
PFAS (“forever chemicals”) and PTFE are highly persistent, barely degrade, and can accumulate in organisms. Substances like these have no place in a modern marine coating.
VOCs (volatile organic compounds) evaporate during application and curing, polluting the air, contributing to ground-level ozone (“summer smog”), and potentially entering waterways. F2 is VOC-free – reducing emissions during application and storage while protecting the crew, the yard, and the environment.
No copper, no tin, no “booster” toxins: these substances harm algae, larvae, and small crustaceans, and accumulate in harbor sludge – which then counts as hazardous waste. Avoiding them keeps waters cleaner and reduces long-term costs.

Our Story
Behind F2 stands Ocean Coatings Ltd., founded in 2015 in England, originally as a pure research company. The goal was clear from the very beginning: to replace toxic, biocide-based antifoulings. Under the leadership of founder and inventor Keith MacGregor, holder of 32 international patents, the breakthrough came with Zeronic™ – our biomimetic additive that creates an exceptionally hydrophobic, hard, and smooth surface where marine organisms find it difficult to attach – making biocides unnecessary.

The F2-Revolution
After years in the lab and in real-world testing, our transformation from a research lab to a provider of advanced coating technologies marks a new chapter for the industry: with F2, boat owners, shipyards, and operators of maritime infrastructure gain a superior, sustainable alternative that enhances performance without harming the environment – for clean hulls and clean oceans.
Explore our productsCertifications & Independent Testing
F2 has been tested by independent laboratories and in numerous long-term sea trials – according to recognized standard procedures for adhesion, abrasion, fouling resistance, and surface energy.
Endures B.V. is an independent maritime research and testing laboratory in Den Helder (NL), specialized in antifouling, fouling, and corrosion. Endures operates laboratory facilities with a continuous flow of natural seawater as well as an open-air test site in the port of Den Helder – ideal conditions for reliable fouling tests. In a 7-month study, Endures B.V. confirmed the effectiveness of F2.
